Navigating Realignment

Halfway through 2023, and what a year it’s been. I started the year with clear intentions that were quickly sidetracked by personal and professional changes in my life.

I’m an extremely creative human who utilizes that energy in my everyday work and life, but my creativity has throttled as I navigate life’s speed bumps. Professionally I’ve been laser-focused on standing up a business, which I’m excited to share more about in the coming months.

Writing this post has been a good reminder of the little things that bring me joy in my everyday craft. Thank you to those who stick around and enjoy my content…

Random Graphics

If your viewing from a mobile device the gifs may take a little extra time to load. Assortment of random graphics created in July.

New Artwork

I’ve been working on my subsequent art collections in physical and digital formats for the past few months. With most packaged and ready to release to the public, I have decided to hold back on minting the digital work with the current state of the market. Instead, I’m currently networking and collecting data on the best approaches to get the artwork into the best collector’s hands in the coming months.

Website Refresh

Digital Art

I’ve finally updated my digital art portfolio. It feels criminal that I haven’t shared more work but I’ve begun to fill this page with more information.

Giving Back

I care very much about giving back through support, mentoring, feedback, etc. I’ve always had a Giving Back page but I want to make a more conscious effort to share it.

h4x0r Experiments

I couldn’t think of a title here, so loading is what I ended up with 🤪. This post is focused on h4x0r’s purpose, IRL installations goals, and sharing some of the innovative products that I have been experimenting with that haven’t been seen by my internet friends. In the previous posts, I shared the ORIGIN STORY and CHAPTER.1

Intent

One of my goals with h4x0r is to utilize the visuals and stories to help educate the Web3 space about security best practices. It’s no secret that most consumers outside of Web3 recognize the space for historic hacks and security breaches. I’ve been searching for galleries and IRL installation opportunities to display the artwork, and it feels like an important message that can be communicated to the viewers around best practices.

Education

IRL Installations

For the past few weeks, I have been contacting galleries and businesses looking for opportunities to display the h4x0r artwork—screens, wall paintings, projection mapping, whatever. Outer Edge NFT LA Conference occurs on March 20-23 in Los Angeles. They accepted my application in February for a land grant, a 10ft x 10ft piece of land, at the conference. I planned to create “The h4x0r Experience,” a 3d room showcasing NFTs and products with security best practices.

Unfortunately, NFT LA responded to me today, not leaving me with time to do this installation after I contacted them numerous times 😤. Still, I will continue to search for suitable galleries and businesses to partner with for these installations.

h4x0r Collection

Two months into the new year, and I’ve had a ton of fun establishing the character h4x0r. In the previous post, I highlighted the origin story. In this post, I focus on visuals and chapters.

Visuals

h4x0r = hacker. Is visualized as a hooded skeleton wearing a headset. The headset is how h4x0r transports through the chain from one txn to another txn. Each green block represents a txn made by someone interacting with the chain. (You buy an nft-you are a block.) These green blocks are the stories that h4x0r visualizes in each piece of artwork.

Data blocks

Chapters

Chapters represent a specific time and place in h4x0r's journey traveling through the blockchain, and the visual artwork is a representation of that place. Each piece of artwork visually communicates that experience through scanning, uploading, observing, processing, and so on and on. At the end of each chapter, I have assembled the visuals into a book that will become a physical product available to anyone in the coming months…

h4x0r Chapter.1

Table of Contents

  1. I am h4x0r ⟶ 1 4m h4x0r

  2. Processing ⟶ p20c3551n9

  3. Surveillance ⟶ 5u2v31114nc3

  4. Uploading ⟶ up104d1n9

  5. ccZero ⟶ cc2320

  6. Observer ⟶ 08532v32

  7. Time Machine ⟶ 71m3 m4ch1n3

A future book extends each NFT by adding pages of additional visualizations for each story. Chapter 2 is well underway and will be added to the book as the stories unfold.

I'm truly thankful for those who like, retweet, collect, and interact with my content. 𝘐𝘮 𝘴𝘰 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘥 to build ʜ4x0ʀ further. Every day is a step towards the 𝙫𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣. In my next blog post, I will dive into the art process, editions, physical products, and IRL gallery experiences I am working hard on.

Year in Review 2022

What a year 2022 has been, a rollercoaster of highs and lows throughout the world. I just finished watching an incredible World Cup game, and thankful to be here sharing my art and designs with friends, old and new on the interwebz and IRL.

I use this site as a playground to document my creative experiments and write about topics that I find interesting such as cc0, on-chain NFTs, and other innovative technologies that connect back to modern art. This post highlights some of my contributions and creations throughout 2022.

Wiki Contributions

Some of my Wiki contributions helped centralize assets and info enabling the community to expand upon brands naturally.

Design Contributions

I helped create assets across a dozen communities contributing to everything from social marketing, and discord development to giveaways. Also here’s a few links to fun with movie marketing Blade Runner, Tron, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.

Product Designs

Alongside my own artwork, I purposely invested in NFTs that enabled me to experiment with IP and cc0 by manufacturing products such as apparel, shoes, prints, and more to learn what consumers gravitated towards.

NFT Drops

🖼️ Mega City Chain

Curious about the generative process, I created Mega City Chain, a derivative NFT. It contains pixel art for Hover Vehicles, Memories, Jet Packs, Light Bikes, Headsets, and Light Rails that are imagined to be parallel assets to your pixel pfp. 🖼️ Foundation

The foundation marketplace excited me the most in 2022 as a creative, and I've added two collections with a few more pieces to mint before the year closes. Click for a preview ⟶ Light of Consciousness | Tools. To help bring more exclusivity, I will be tying my digital assets to physical products and experiences in 2023. If you've been to or seen my IRL art shows, you have an insight into what's coming.

2023 Intentions

Having kids (3-yr and 1-yr), balancing a full-time job, and pursuing creative hobbies have taught me the importance of time and focus. My goal for 2023 is to reduce the signal-to-noise and hone in on the areas I love the most.

  1. Professionally I will be pursuing a new job that feeds my passion for building.

  2. I will mint the final pieces for LOC and TOOLS NFT collections and drop only a few 1/1 limited editions available only to holders of my projects.

  3. I will tie my digital assets to physical products and IRL interactive art experiences to connect everything.

  4. I will continue to collect and support artists and projects pushing IP and cc0 possibilities into the future.

If you’ve made it this far, I appreciate you and hope you’ve enjoyed my creative content.

More love, more wins, and more fun for all in 2023

Light of Consciousness

Light of Consciousness is my latest artwork collection containing ( 12 ) 1/1 pieces of Digital and Physical artwork. I created this blog post to highlight the what, why, and share some previews.

I've been fascinated with light and human interaction throughout my career. Looking back on the physical pieces I've produced over the years, many of them have contained light as the medium. At the core, the artwork is about self-expression, a voice from the soul, and the messages the creator wants to share with the viewers. Remembering back to past gallery shows, the light artwork would always produce a more profound reaction leading to a deeper conversation around meaning. Here are a few pieces of light artwork I've created over the years…

The collection, Light of Consciousness, is an exploration of light. Shapes, ideas, and stories inspired by questions. Each piece represents a different connection between light and human existence. A few questions I’m interested in and asked along the way while creating the artwork…

Why are humans drawn to light? Is light connected to happiness? Can light improve mental health? Is light connected to happiness? Why do we wake up and function during the day and sleep at night?

Each and every piece has an extensive process associated with it to bring the Digital or Physical artwork to life. Draw, illustrate, animate, process liquid motion, layer, loop, and mint.

With all digital assets, I used four programs each to create the visual effects, such as the one below, to represent my ideas about humans and light. The physical artwork went a step further by creating LED-coded animations and experimenting with rainbow light effects before turning them into digital assets.

As you can see from this post, I’m interested in further exploring the connection between light and human consciousness. This is the first of what I hope to be many art collections to come in the future.

If you took the time to read this post, thank you. Feel free to reach out with further questions, collaborations, or to share feedback.
